This film is a model of documentary filmmaking and a fitting homage to both, sadly, a passing era and the talented - mostly - ladies who gave from their heart for their art not always recieving the accolades - or, sometimes, even the credit - they obviously deserved.
Technically, 20 Feet is masterfully crafted, at times singling in on one focal subject, at others mixing imagery, music, archival footage, etc. in whatever manner best suited for the flow. With brilliant honesty it captures the energy, drive, disappointment, elation and all other aspects of the roller coaster career the performers endured.
This is truly a tribute to the special breed of artists that are not driven by ego to become stars but rather the altruism to simply master their art.
