An outstanding film with an amazing soundtrack. A documentary that follows the three act structure. We care for these singers and learn that everyone wants/needs to be the lead or star. In an Q&A screening, Director Morgan Neville expounded on how the film's story developed in post-production and how hard it was to cut some characters and their stories.
He also detailed the music licensing process and the favors given. We learned that many of these "background singers" who voiced the original hits finally received residuals for their work. Well worth watching.
