Review of 2 Guns (2013) by Eric R — 18 Dec 2013
This one establishes pretty quickly exactly what is it: a bromance. A witty, shoot em up, cross and double-cross bromance. Not even Wahlberg and Washington, two of the best in the business, can make a movie like this interesting. Nor can their nicknames.
This movie has been made a million times: never a down second so American audiences can't be bored and walk out. The conversations contain about eight times more wit than most of us our capable of doing on our own. Hell, there's even a smokin' hot female agent in there just to throw an extra spoke in the wheel.
I lost interest before it was all over. Occasionally, these movies can keep my interest...if they're actually funny or do even one thing original. I didn't see that here. I think they just put the old story to two great actors hoping for something. Sorry.
