Review of 2 Guns (2013) by Tom R — 27 Dec 2013

(4 Stars) It's funny how different Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington can be yet still have great chemistry; their banter is the best part of 2 Guns, a movie that reminds me of Lethal Weapon if it were mixed in a comedic version of Traffic... and that's a great thing.

I won't pretend that the multiple undercover agents plot filled with betrayal isn't ambitious, but it's very entertaining. Despite it being more popcorn action than intellectual, it still twists and turns in places you can't predict. There are moments that reveal surprises that are really well done. Action-wise, it's very enjoyable. There's amazing car chases and shootouts. 2 Guns is a diverting buddy action comedy with a great cast.
