Review of 2 Guns (2013) by Robbie H — 16 Feb 2014
There's only so much charisma can get you in life, and in the case for director Baltasae Kormakure high-octane action/comedy, that's all there is to enjoy: the fun, dynamic interplay between stars Washington and Whalberg.
And sure, things go "Pew, Pew, Pew!" while cars explode as our two heroes strut in a fashionable, slow-motion way, but the jarring plot contrivances and hack-written story is too much weighing down on whatever fun there can be had.
All the action and gun-play leads up to a tonally-disjointed mess of strained plot devices and wishy-washy villains. Oye, this film feels more like a drag than a fun ride.
