Review of 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003) by Adrianost07 — 11 Aug 2021
The sequel stays true to its core of being based around street racing, tuner imports but this time, it the antagonists aren't petty street racers, robbing trucks full of DVD players. This movie can be seen as the beginning of when the franchise starts having a big antagonist such as a cartel member that members of the team have to take down.
Carter Verone is a good antagonist but probably the weakest out of the whole franchise. The introduction of Tej and Roman was a great choice, and the casting option for those 2 was also a great choice, in particularly picking Tyrese Gibson to play Rome who smashed the role of being a comedic but bad-ass friend of Brian which the two share a great chemistry together.
Paul Walker's performance of Brian was better than the first movie, making his character more confident and less enigmatic right from the beginning, and letting the audience know who's in charge. 2 Fast 2 Furious is a great sequel despite what critics say, and definietly my top 3 movie of the whole franchise.
