Review of 2 Days in the Valley (1996) by Jeff K — 05 Jan 2007
Such an under-rated and unheard of film...
At least it was in my day when it first hit the cinemas. Undoubtedly overshadowed by films such as Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, and even Killing Zoe but this film arguable is right up there with Pulp Fiction in its style and more importantly, execution.
It follows the mulitple strand storyline that collides to tell the whole event plot device and when it all builds up, you end up with a situation that does that magical thing of making what is a horrible situation funny, tragic and at the same time and allows horrible characters to be horrible and tragic ones to be heroes.
You could say that the "happy" ending gives it an almost too hollywood feel but the wonderful characters, especially Danny Aiello makes this a gem.
