Julie Delpy, in 2007, created the spiritual successor of the Before Sunrise/Sunset films that made her famous.

2 Days in Paris is a charming, quirky and talky movie about a couple who visits the City of Love and finds truth about life.

Delpy herself wrote, directed and starred in the film and although her charming presence is matched by only a small number of actresses working today Adam Goldberg steals almost every scene from her. He's the American boyfriend who naturally doesn't speak any French and experience one culture clash after another. It doesn't help either that his sophisticated and mild-tempered girlfriend rediscovers her French origins which lead to mayhem and mental outbursts he's not used to.

I found these culture clash parts only mildly amusing and especially the beginning of the film a bit annoying but it got stronger and more meaningful at the end, including a bittersweet final scene that really recreates the spirit of Before Sunset.

The follow-up to this film is playing around here already and I watched 2 Days in Paris also because I wanted to know if its successor could be any good. After all, I don't think I'll watch it in theater but I'll definitely put it on my list.

What a dilemma - check one off - add one. Stupid sequels^^.
