Review of 2 Days in Paris (2007) by Pat G — 04 Jul 2008
Some of the best and worst of Paris. A couple at a crossroads in their relationship in one of the most romantic cities in the world, but meddling parents and ex-boyfriends adding doubts to whether it can work.
Adam Goldberg is at his sarcastic best as the American with limited French skills, growing more annoyed with the entire situation. Next time in France, I'll order a hamburger by mooing like a cow at the cashier.
Julie Delpy does it all here. Writer, lead actress, director, casting, and even wrote music in the editing process. Much of the movie is in English, and otherwise the use of subtitles is perfect. When we need to know what's going on, it's there.
When the director want's us as clueless as the boyfriend, no help for the viewer (unless you watch with a French speaker).
