Review of 2 Days in Paris (2007) by Ayako V — 07 Dec 2008
The style, the direction, and the location were not so bad...but there were 3 things which I really didn't like: the castings, the humour, and the characters. There was no chemistry between Adam Goldberg and Julie Delpy, and it was even painful to watch these 2 together acting they were in love.
The humour mostly to make fun of French people was also disgusting, and it was really outrageous, ridiculous and unpleasant. The characters of Marion(Julie) and Jack(Adam) were also too eccentric: a hysterical and agressive girl and a hyper-sensitive, depressed looking guy.
... I think it is a matter of taste, but for me, it was probably one of the most depressing and annoying 'love-comedy' films I have ever seen. I just felt like I was in front of the TV for 3 hours, while it was only 96 minutes!
