Review of 2 Days in Paris (2007) by Kimberly B — 28 Nov 2010
I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. I had expected it to be much like those two movies with Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke, where the characters wander around and talk throughout the film. This is what happened here, basically, but in this movie, the dialogue was funny! The lines are delivered quickly & if you aren't paying attention, you could miss the parts that are supposed to be funny. It's not slapstick, and I laughed out loud on several occasions.
The movie itself, ultimately, falls into the "fluff" category, because it's essentially just about the relationship between these characters and their own Issues with relationships and commitment. Still, these topics were not overdone or heavy-handed, and as a consequence the movie was enjoyable and entertaining. I definitely recommend this.
