Review of 2 Days in Paris (2007) by Everett J — 04 Sep 2012
Conversational movies can often be either really good or tedious and boring. "2 Days in Paris" falls smack dab in the middle. The characters are interesting, and the situations are humorous, but half way through you just lose interest.
My wife stopped carry after about an hour. The movie revolves around Marion(Julie Delpy) and her boyfriend Jack(Adam Goldberg) as they spend 2 days in Paris with her family and friends before heading home to New York.
Over the 2 days they learn things about each other they didn't know, and their relationship is tested in ways they never thought imaginable. All the while having deep conversations about politics, racism, sex, and other topics that goes borderline pretentious.
It runs at 100 minutes, which is probably 20 minutes too long. It's okay for a watch if you are into these types of movies. But if you need something more to keep your interest, then pass on this.
