I saw this the year it came out and LOVED IT, and it's STILL one of the best comic movies out there.
Spielberg's fourth film (right after Close Encounters) and at the time, the loudest.
Why this movie wasn't well received is BEYOND me. it's unfortunate sandwiching between Close Encounters and Raiders of the Lost Ark often explains why most people have either forgotten it or have never seen it.
I just got another copy for my birthday and I couldn't be happier.
