Review of 1776 (1972) by Stephen T — 04 Jul 2008
One of my favorites! William Daniels as John Adams is the key, ably backed by Howard Da Silva as Ben Franklin. The movie makes Thomas Jefferson appear to be a pawn of John Adams. Of course, I always hate it when South Carolinians are portrayed as the "bad guys.
" The whole passage of the Declaration of Independence could also have been thwarted by the fence-sitting Pennsylvanian (Dr. Wilson) or the last minute New Yorkers (the vote was 12-1-0) until the very end.
