Review of 17 Again (2009) by L B — 26 May 2013
Cute, proper little teen movie. I had never seen a Zac Efron movie before, and I can get why he makes girls swoon - he has the perfect looks of the perfect boy with just enough charm to pull it off. Some nice secondary characters - rather liked Thomas Lennon as the dork Ned Gold and Melora Hardin as Principal Jane Masterson.
Had some issues with the message that clearly catered to a conservative audience (SPOILERS: rejecting safe sex advice, stalking someone and bribing them until they give into your advances?? At least, the person being swooned was a 'strong' character) but I was happy with the other message (SPOILERS: not abandoning your pregnant girlfriend, not putting the blame on her your whole life because of your own choices, in other words, being responsible).
