Review of 17 Again (2009) by Scott E — 18 Feb 2014
This was okay, an average film that just touches the same buttons as we've seen before. Zac Effron is fine, the cast is fine and they do the best they can with what they got. The film is full of uncomfortable moments that are supposed to pass as comedy.
This is typical of this sub-genre of film. The uncomfortable and awkward moments are supposed to be side splittingly funny. And well they aren't that funny. They are amusing at best. It is like a Sitcom movie.
A situational comedy. The characters aren't all that funny. Their relationships aren't all that funny. But the situation is the comedic genius here, which is giving it credit. Was I entertained? Um, a little I think.
I can't really tell.
