Review of 16 Years of Alcohol (2003) by Julian ? — 04 Apr 2006
I almost turned this off during the opening scenes when he's a kid. So overly dreary and sad sad sad it was verging on ridiculous... but then he gets older and becomes a violent skinhead, and then he meets a girl, etc.
Mckidd (have you seen him on Rome, HBO?) is really good.
Based on the actual experiences of the Writer/Director/Producer, Richard Jobson and his brother.Give the guy a break, it's his directorial debut, and a good effort at that.
Never saw Trainspotting, but the Clockwork Orange references are obvious.
