Review of 16 Blocks (2006) by David F — 16 Feb 2009
While Mos Def's annoying character took some getting used to, I have to say this is one of Willis' better roles. Sure he's played down-and-out and grizzled before but never lookin' like this flawed cop.
Richard Donner directs a story that relies more on characters and situations rather than any kind of typical police chase or suspence conventions. Morse is good as always as the corrupt ex-partner on the trail of Willis and his "assignment".
There's some great showdowns as well as genuine character development with New York City being as much a character as any of the actors.
