Review of 16 Blocks (2006) by Emi S — 22 Nov 2009
Burnt out cop Bruce Willis has to escort Mos Def 16 Blocks so he can testify in front of the Grand Jury on police corruption. The bent cops led by Willis old partner David Morse do everything in their power to stop them.
Slightly above average cop thriller with Bruce Willis collecting a pay check, David Morse doing his damndest to elevate things and Mos Def doing the most annoying voice ever (seriously the voice alone would have been enough for me to hand him over to Morse and certain death). Considering this is directed by Richard Donner the action scenes are lacking. Feels like a made for tv offering rather then a Hollywood film. Catch it on tv and you'll be satisfvied if not overjoyed but don't actually pay money for this.
