Review of 16 Blocks (2006) by Bernhard B — 09 Jan 2010
Action hero with rapper. While certainly not a new idea on the big screen, this film twists the usual wham-bam action movie and adds more depth to the characters in question. The script, while not horrible, still reminds me of a cliche action movie but for some reason manages to pull it off.
Willis and Def play well off each other and do nothing to detract from the film. Watching the dynamics between the two characters had me thinking of an action-movie, simplified version of "Rain Man".
While not Willis' best film, he does pull this part off admirably.
