Review of 16 Blocks (2006) by John O — 12 Oct 2008
Bruce Willis beautifully delivers the weight of the world on his aged character's shoulders, allowing a brilliant change of pace to set this film alight. Mos Def is perfect as the nasal criminal who wants to change his ways and be a humble baker.
And David Morse always brings the goods to anything he's in. I didn't realise until the closing credits that this was directed by Richard Donner, that was when the penny dropped as to why this is so good.
Great cast + great director = a must see!
