Make sure to watch the theatrical/DVD version of the film and not the version that ends with Sam Jackson in a cemetery. That terrible alternate ending ruins the whole movie.
I love John Cusack, but don't love any of his movies - except this one. This type of haunting suspense from the perspective of the critical and relatable non-believer scares me the most. The scene at the window where he communicates with the shadow across the street is one of the scariest things I've ever seen!
This movie is very underrated and one of the best movies made from a Stephen King story.
