Review of 13th (2016) by Robby K — 03 Nov 2016
A documentary that can compete with feature films in both impact and technical skill is a rarity. Ava DuVernay follows up her fantastic 2014 film "Selma" with an arguably even better, and certainly a more powerful look at what it means to be a black man or woman in America.
It will make you rethink history, it will make you want to make a difference, and it will go down as one of the most important pieces of cinema in the last decade.
