Review of 13 Tzameti (2006) by Serge L — 26 Aug 2015
Just rewatched this film and it is still just as suspenseful and intense the third time around. This film affected me so much I got the lightbulb tattooed on my wrist. Forget Hollywood remakes and just see this version, it is so stripped down and minimalist, the black and white film adds depth to the story of life and death and.
Represents a dichotomous starkness. The lack of a soundtrack except the off-key piano in the beginning and end ,and excess noise, contribute to the position at the edge of your seat your will find yourself in.
The announcer is so psychopathically intense it makes you wonder what the guy does in his spare time. Leave Jason Statham alone, it is a cheap rip off of this incredible art house movie. Just go ahead.
... reading subtitles isn't so bad!
