Review of 13 Sins (2014) by Roxanne R — 15 Jul 2014
The opening scene of this film left me speechless and was an indicator of things to come. As the challenges increase in number, the risks taken become greater until you can imagine what the last challenge entails.
Its not a fantastic film by any stretch of the imagination but it will keep you hooked until its ending. We have an honest and friendly insurance salesman named Elliot (M. Webber) that lost his job for doing the right thing for a client.
His girlfriend Shelby played by Rutina Wesley is black and his father dislikes African Americans. Elliot's brother is mentally disabled so Elliot is having a tough time helping out his family when he loses his job but a strange call offers the possibility of incredible wealth if he completes 13 challenges.
My issue with the film is that we have no idea who is behind this monumental task, controlling AND seeing everything. So the script is poorly written somewhat. Anyways it is available on Netflix instant streaming and not bad at all although a film aficionado can predict the ending.
