Review of 13 Going on 30 (2004) by Stephen B — 18 Apr 2011
The hardest thing to do with films nowadays is find a good romantic comedy. It's possibly the worst genre because it's so hard not to be cheesy and they're all the same when it comes down to it.
But this film has become an exception. After monstrosities like Daredevil and Elektra, I shocked both that Jennifer Garner gave an amazing performance and that it was as a girl in love. She captured the essence of a 13 year old in a 30 year old's body almost perfectly.
Mark Ruffalo, who will be playing Bruce Banner, turned out to be a good actor actually and I enjoyed watching him very much. The whole story was quite original and the film was surprisingly funny to watch.
The ending was nice and was very satisfactory for me.
