Review of 13 Assassins (2010) by Bob H — 31 Jul 2013
A bloody tale of 13 men setting off to kill the psychopathic heir to the shogunate. Miike has crafted one of the best samurai flicks to come out of Japan in recent years. The gorgeous setting is a backdrop to this tale of comradery and death as the men do battle with their sadistic lords army of personal bodyguards.
The blood flows freely in this one, and some of the scenes can be quite harrowing, but this group of samurai are definitely worth a watch.
