Absolutely bananas. 13 Assassins is about a group of unemployed samurai who are enlisted to bring down a sadistic lord and prevent him from ascending to the throne and plunging the country into a wartorn future.
I hated his last movie Western Django, but Takashi Miike redeems himself with this Japanese period piece, which has an incredible 40 minute non-stop action scene. Recommended.
