When I found out Takashi Miike was doing a "traditional" samurai movie I was thrilled & while finally watching Takashi Miike's "traditional" samurai movie I was very thrilled.
13 Assassins is a sweeping poetic blood bath brought to us by a Japanese film making legend. The final beheading is indulgently satisfying & the last kill intensely sobering.
