The direction was over the top, although the script was quite good and the casts performances are on point and well acted. The music was also really overbearing and unnecessary. Makes me want to watch the original.
Hard to believe the two movies were captured by the same director. Of course, unfortunately, non-art house audiences will probably only watch this version and enjoy it.
