Review of 127 Hours (2010) by Lawrence B — 13 Apr 2012
Gripping true-life survival story with an ideally cast James Franco as the young mountain climber trapped in an isolated canyon with nothing or no-one around for help. It's been done before of course (most notably perhaps with "Touching the Void") but the inherent truth and drama of the tale naturally makes it compulsive viewing and a testament to how cruel and punishing life may turn yet how strong and rewarding the human spirit can be.
