Review of 127 Hours (2010) by Ryan B — 05 May 2012
This movie is the story of Aaron Ralston, a mountain climber who becomes trapped by a boulder in April 2003.
One day, Aaron prepares for a day of canyoneering in Canyon-lands National Park in Utah. He helps two lost travelers find there way to their location of interest and then goes on his way.
Descending a 50 foot drop off, Aaron misjudges the security of a 2 ton boulder which his foot is using for support. The boulder gives, and he falls to the bottom, hand crushed against the wall of the canyon.
Thus begins his story of true bravery in finding a way to escape his imprisonment.
This movie, being a true event, is already a guaranteed heart wrenching tale. But the way Danny Boyle presents the film even brought tears to the real Aaron Ralston.
I just cant stress enough the incredible performance of James Franco in the role of Ralston. He creates a character so real that its impossible to not feel his pain.
It's just an all around amazing film and I hope its recognized by a lot of people.
