127 Hours manages to keep you watching even if it's just a film about a single dude trapped in a canyon by himself day after day after day. But I couldn't help comparing it to a similar film that came out around the same time called Buried. Both films are essentially about a single actor trapped by themselves in a single locale. I personally found Buried to be the better film. It was more entertaining and not to knock Franco who did a fantastic job in 127 Hours, but I found myself more worried about Ryan Reynolds in Buried. Both films are worth checking out and I'd even go so far as to say you might want to give them a look together and compare.

127 Hours is a good film I just wish Boyle had truly managed to capture canyoneer Aron Ralston's fear and dread better and allowed the audience to really feel it. I couldn't help thinking that this guy was always going to make it out no matter how bad it got and that kinda took away from the overal effect of the film.
