A story that needed to be seen by the masses, perhaps because we as a culture have become soft and lazy, loosing our ability to push ourselves through the pain of life for those moments of absolute accomplishment.
Or perhaps because there's no way to know what one would really do to survive under extreme circumstances until it (hopefully never, but might) actually happens.
