Review of 127 Hours (2010) by Rajansatish P — 07 Jul 2012
James Franco is Aron Ralston, an adrenaline junkie who, on a remote canyonning trip, falls and gets his arm trapped under a boulder. Completely trapped, unable to escape and alone the film follows his thoughts and flashbacks as he toys with the difficult decisions he must face if he wants to survive.
It is based on a true story that really magnifies the themes of courage, determination, perseverance and the human spirit of one man and his fight for survival. Danny Boyle's direction is fantastic and for a film that, for the most part, is in a single location focusing on the face of one man.
The film is engaging, tense and made with style and flair. James Franco does an exceptional job playing Aron in this almost one-man show. His determination and emotions come flooding through the screen and proves his credentials as a quality and versatile actor.
A must see.
