An incredible true story! A true story that was made into no doubt the most gripping dramatic thriller I have seen in recent memory. The film follows the story of mountain climber Aron Ralston and the accident that caused him to be trapped within a crack in a canyon with his arm submerged under a rock. The film chronicles his attempts at survival over the course of his 127 hours.

The film is brilliantly acted by James Franco. Franco at first in the film brings forth the confidence, skill and pride of Ralston but upon being trapped he shows fear, struggle and ultimately you see the will within him to be free. Franco's acting is truly one of the best performances of 2010, its all his deep emotion he gives within the performance, look at his facial expressions, the videos he makes and most notably his reaction upon his dreams, and hallucinations.

The directing by Danny Boyle is top notch, I really liked the directorial style because it felt authentic, it felt very much like a documentary as if this was the true experience of Ralston. The film is very thrilling, and very exciting as you watch his attempts to escape and survive. The ending as to how Ralston escapes is one of the most cringing moments in cinema where he amputates his own arm, it is gory and very hard to watch. Ultimately the film is a motivational story showing the will he possessed to keep going and showcasing a happy ending with Aron surviving, living a happy life with a family and continuing to do what he loves the most. A great film and no doubt one of the best films of 2010.
