Review of 127 Hours (2010) by Angelina C — 10 Oct 2012
I think I forgot to swallow and I forgot to breathe too during THAT scene. I watched through fingers fanned in front of eyes! I love James Franco, for taking this role and making it as real as it felt. The portrayal of hiker Aron Ralston, this amazing person with a truly remarkable spirit.
This a one man show similar to Buried. All the action is confined to a tiny space. Boyle successfully got me extremely involved in its main character. Got me thinking: will he? won't he? how could he? The movie does a phenonmenal job of showing his inner battles with himself.
Incredible cinematography, beautifully shot.
The Bad:
Did not care for the overly dramatic , bombastic soundtracks.
Too many visuals flashbacks irritated me.
Without any reservation, I would recommend 127 hours but I do not think I have the guts to watch it again.
