Review of 127 Hours (2010) by Ross C — 25 Mar 2014
Great opening sequence with the three paneled effect coupled with music. Immediately sets the adventurous tone. Beautiful colours and shots. Rich and warm. Franco certainly captures that feeling of adventure and the arrogance of invincibility.
It seemed though to lack a feeling of depth -some insight or soul searching moment. Shots weave back and forth between present and past; reality and dream, but there was little by way of dialogue for Franco to work with to make viewers feel invested emotionally in his situation.
Adrenaline junkies and Mountain Dew drinkers will love it!
