Review of 127 Hours (2010) by George E — 06 Sep 2012
Great acting by James Franco. The cinematography was the best thing about this film.
I just thought it would've been much better if it were filmed in a more cinematic way. At most times it was like they were using some sort of a home handheld camera. This just didn't feel cinematic with the shaky camera and real look.
The upbeat songs/soundtrack didn't really suit the film at the beginning and they made this like a sport/hiking film - that was a very bad way to start the film. They also went overboard with the flashbacks and him thinking of masturbating (I hope the real guy didn't thought of that, who would when you're dying?).
The ending was just amazing; very tense and realistic when he cut off his arm, just wow!
