Review of 12:08 East of Bucharest (2006) by Amos B — 13 Jul 2007
July 14, 2007 - Pacific Film Archive, Berkeley.
Three men attempt to reconstruct the Romanian "revolution" of December 22, 1989, sixteen years later. The effort yields only a conflicted narrative, and in the process brings to the surface accusations of opportunism, mendacity, as well as nostalgia. Very compelling, especially for those with an interest in the region and its recent history.
