Review of 12:01 (1993) by Laurence H — 11 Apr 2011
A film about the same day repeating over and over that came out the same year as Groundhog Day was bound to be over-shadowed, especially when it doesn't have the star factor of Bill Murray. But while Groundhog Day plays as a comedy and character redemption story, 12:01 is a serious sci-fi story and thriller.
Having said that 12:01 does have a romantic element and some really funny moments too. This is a real unsung gem and well worth watching. Highly recommended.
