Fairly good representation of those days I assume. A few nice lines there too. And it did stir up some thoughts: Slavery indeed evolved well over the last two centuries, wrapped around with icing called money, more governed by law against cruelty.
But nowadays, slavery still exists, less direct via the medium money, and everybody black, white, and yellow can be a slave.
