Review of 12 Years a Slave (2013) by Sheridan P — 01 Sep 2014
I'd love to say that this film horrified and shocked me. It did. It was fantastically filmed, acted, and produced. The shocking thing is is that this still happens 160 years later. Some of us humans are just as inhumane, ignorant, fearful and hideous as these slave traders and "owners" were.
The methods and labels may be different, but it's still happening. And, I fear,always will :(.
