12 Years a Slave is no doubt one of the best movies in 2013 and it deserves the Best Picture honour from the Academy. Chiwetel Ejiofor is absolutely brilliant and fascinating, so are Lupita Nyong'o and Michael Fassbender.
There are torture sequences I dare not to watch though.Steve McQueen certainly wanted to keep those torture scenes as raw as possible. 12 Years a Slave is a rather heart-breaking movie but it does inspire one and give one hopes.
