Review of 12 Years a Slave (2013) by Kyle M — 27 Jan 2015
Powerful with emotions and storytelling alongside the performances of its nice cast. It was genuinely hard and blood boiling at the highest temperature for a little amount of the film's portion. This film has a good and bad switch of its nature, and there's some good brought in by nice characters with good souls, meaning the predicted bad nature doesn't take up most of the film's length. The characters stand up for something in the story that shows power.
Yes, "12 Years a Slave" is a hard movie to watch and I don't think I would recommend something that's hard. But I can say it's watchable by how much power it'd used throughout with representations and great performances and direction. Its Best Picture title justifies it. (B+).
