Review of 12 Years a Slave (2013) by Loyal D — 30 May 2015

A very deep and moving film about the lives of Slaves in the old American days. It was very brutal and powerful but I wasn't sure what the director was trying to prove with all these scenes. It was an above average movie with astonishing visuals and direction, the acting was great too and I loved the ending, I can see why it was critically acclaimed but it was far from my favorite films of 2013, regardless a brilliant movie and the best of its remarkably small genre.
