While the movie is very difficult to watch at several times throughout, it is still extremely well made and is a great film that depicts the true horrors of slavery. Acting is top notch from everybody, and the story is solid with great dialogue.
The only problem that some may encounter with the film is that it is very difficult to watch in several scenes, especially with others. This is a very mature film and viewers would be warned that some of the acts shown may be disturbing.
The film also uses the "N" word a lot throughout, especially in one scene where a character sings a despicably racist song, and it may be uncomfortable for some. Besides those minor problems, this film is fantastic, it truly reflects on our developing society, and how violent and barbaric people acted when rules and regulations depended on skin color.
