Beautifully filmed and entirely compelling, 12 Years a Slave is a film full of career-best performances and amazing direction. No-holds-barred filmmaking makes 12 Years a Slave hard to watch a times, but tells its tale with as much accuracy as possible.
Brutal and unflinching, 12 Years a Slave was easily the best film of 2013, and possible the best slavery movie of all time.
