Brutal, heart-wrenching look at the horrors of slavery during the mid-1800's. '12 Years a Slave' is hard to look at sometimes but that's simply because of the difficult subject at hand and the directors did a fantastic job of depicting the pure hell that slaves experienced.
The performances from everyone especially lead actor Chiwetal Ejiofor seem so authentic that you can almost share the pain with them, it's hauntingly incredible. This critically acclaimed movie is a must watch.
