This is a really good film. It's exceptionally brutal yes, but at no time does the violence feel inappropriate for the setting of the story. Some of the central relationships, especially Fassbender's strange love triangle are really interesting and I found myself gripped throughout.
Found ourselves spending a long time discussing how on earth you resume 'normal' life after such an experience.
